The camp has a response plan should there be a suspected case identified at camp. The suspected camper or staff member will be isolated, and parents will be notified about the positive case with as much detail as allowed by law. Vaccinated campers/staff in close contact may be required to receive a COVID test after five days and provide proof of a negative test result. Those who become symptomatic should be free of symptoms for 24 hours and also provide proof of a negative test result. Unvaccinated campers/staff in close contact will be required to quarantine for 10 days after their last exposure to the infected person or provide a negative test result on or after day 5 of quarantine.
A nurse will be on the campus three days per week. An additional nurse will be on call on the other two days. An EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) trained lifeguard will be on campus every day as well as several first aid/CPR certified staff. The medical station is located in an isolated room at camp.
Yes. In addition to campers bringing their own sunscreen, we strongly encourage parents to apply it to their child(ren) before arriving at camp. We recognize that younger campers may need assistance in applying sunscreen. Please provide a spray bottle for the body, and a squeeze bottle or stick for the face. Parents must acknowledge permission for counselors to assist via the camp enrollment process.
All parents dropping off their child(ren) late should notify the camp in advance by phone or email. When you arrive on campus, remain in your vehicle, and call 570-842-8594 and a staff person will approach your vehicle to bring your child to their group.
All parents picking up their child(ren) early or dropping them off late should notify the camp in advance by phone or email. The camp phone number is 570-842-8594 and the camp email is campdaleville@scrantonjcc.org. When you arrive on campus, proceed to the main office (white house), and approach the side window or main door for assistance.
Should a camper require downtime, there will be a supervised, isolated area for this until such time the camper is ready to return to the group.
The first day of camp is Monday, June 17, 2024. There is no camp on Thursday, July 4, 2024. The last day of camp is Friday, August 9, and dismissal time is extended until 7:00 pm as campers participate in our traditional last day of camp program.

No, lunches will not be available for purchase. Campers are required to bring a lunch daily and camp staff will properly store it until their lunch period.
Each camp group will have a designated area to store their belongings. It will be spaced out in order to ensure one camper’s belongings are not touching others.
At this time, no. For health and safety reasons, we do not plan to have group overnights this summer. In the event that the public health situation changes significantly, our overnight plan may be reconsidered.
Our staff has created a schedule of activities that include cooking, STEM, arts and crafts, archery, nature, music, drama, boating, swimming, sports & games, and other creative programs. The playground will also be used this summer.
Swimming is part of the activity schedule and will likely be held every day. We will adhere to CDC and the PA State Department of Health guidelines toward the maximum number of swimmers allowed in the pool at one time.
Campers are encouraged to wear their bathing suits under their clothes on the days swimming is scheduled. It is recognized that some of the youngest campers may need assistance with changing; counselors will wear masks and gloves when assistance is needed, and parents must acknowledge permission for counselors to assist via the camp enrollment process. Change rooms will be available to use before and after swim periods. There are no more than eight children and two counselors permitted to use the change rooms at one time.
In addition to all of the fun and exciting camp activities, traditional group sports will be part of the schedule this summer. We will adhere to all CDC guidelines.
Yes, a signed “Acknowledgment of Risk” form related to COVID-19 is required for every camper. We follow all PA Department of Health and CDC guidelines. Our goal is to run the camp as safely as possible and to prevent transmission of COVID-19. We require families to recognize and be aware of the risks involved. The signed form serves as an acknowledgment.
One bus, with a limited seating of 40 campers, will be available for transportation to and from camp at an additional fee of $55 per camper/per week. For parents/guardians driving their child(ren) to camp, designated drop-off locations on the campus will be communicated before June 1.
