Battenburg is a double gingham in red, pink, sand and butter yellow — four colours crossing and overlapping in stripes that echo the cake it's named for. Drawn from the archive of London textiles artist Nic Brittin, originally block-printed by hand and now digitally printed on a linen-cotton blend in the UK, on an ivory ground. Something warm and a little celebratory for every table.
