Hip Pack Pro 3L

Fanny packs are no longer just for tourists at a national park. They are now a force in the mountain biking lexicon as the go-to carry option for an increasing number of riders. EVOC has already established itself as a major player in riding bags and equipment transport, and they have brought their attention to detail to the Hip Pack Pro 3L.

The amount of adjustability on this pack might seem a bit daunting at first, but once you know what all the bits and strips and straps are meant for, you’ll be ready to gear up in no time.

Once you don the pack, you’ll notice the wide waist belt that EVOC calls the AeroFlex strap. The AeroFlex is softer and wider than traditional seat belt-style straps, and it doesn’t cut into your clothing or skin. There is plenty of Velcro to keep the strap securely closed, but in case you want some added security as you crush those trail beverages, there is a buckle.

The VentiFlap system is unique to EVOC, and adds an element of adjustability you might not know you need until you need it. There are two pull straps on each side of the Hip Pack that change the fit by about an inch on each side. When you’re climbing and want some extra airflow and comfort, pull those straps back and the pack will hang a little looser on your hips. When you’re ready to get aggro on the descents, tighten the straps back up and your pack will be secure for whatever the trail throws at you (or when you throw yourself at the trail).

In addition to an internal pouch that can fit a 1.5 liter hydration bladder, there are two bottle holsters on the Hip Pack, so you have no excuse to be dehydrated. Just don’t let your friends get used to bumming water off you on every ride. Those holsters also have cinch straps and an elastic band that goes over each bottle mouthpiece to keep everything in place during descents.
