Mahogany Pod Sections come from the Swietenia macrophylla tree which is found all over South East Asia, South, and Central America as a prominent source of timber. The whole pods (which we will soon be offering) and these pod sections make incredible botanicals for our fish. They have a delicate curve to them and a very robust composition which will grow supplemental nutrition and provide hiding places for your fish for many months. These pods do not provide many tannins, but their shape pairs perfectly with neon tetras, corydoras, and especially betta fish. Though we don't like to push medicinal properties, as they are hard to measure, these pods have flavonoids, saponins, and many humic substances which help to improve the immune system of your entire aquarium. This bag and its contents are biodegradable! Did you know our product packaging is made from renewable and sustainable sugarcane? So just like the botanicals inside, it will compost when returned to nature.

Quantities: 6x Mahogany Pod Sections. Sizes and shapes range from 3" to 7" long and 1.5" wide. This is a natural product, and variation between leaves and botanicals is expected.
